The Growing Center's Children in Nature Initiative is based on partnerships. These partnerships support and create opportunities for kids and youth to spend time outdoors playing and learning in city green spaces like the Growing Center. Here's an update from what went on with our Children in Nature Initiative this winter!

Partners like EarthWise Aware hold regular sessions for learning about the connections between the plants, insects and other creatures. They also train volunteers as part of a regional biodiversity participatory science project that includes the Growing Center.

UMass Boston PhD student Averie St. Germain is collecting data on arthropod communities in urban areas like the Growing Center.
