ArtFence @ Vinal Avenue: Pollination is (a Game of) Chance!

 

Inspired by the Somerville Art Council's ArtBeat 2020 theme of chance, we created an installation on the Growing Center’s Vinal Avenue fence that explores the role that chance plays in pollination.

Pollinators come in many different shapes and sizes––from bats to birds to bees to butterflies.

 

Growing Center volunteers created some unique pollinators out of bent willow branches and fabric. And in keeping with this year’s ArtBeat theme of "Chance," we asked ourselves, “What role does chance play in pollination?”
