'Soil, Water, Sun & Air' after school program
Preschoolers from the Capuano Early Childhood Center particate in this special program.

We will explore four natural elements--soil, air, sun and water--from the perspective of plants, animals, and humans using hands-on investigation, active movement and play, songs, games and stories. We will plant seeds, nurture them and watch them grow. This will give us the opportunity to look at what plants need to grow and how this relates to other animals (including humans). In order to encourage continued outdoor exploration, caretakers will also learn about other programs at the Growing Center and be encouraged to share other local resources. The primary goals of the program are to foster an appreciation for air, water, sun and soil and, above all, to have fun in the outdoors.

Volunteer Workday - POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEK
The Growing Center season has started up, with work days and Spring
celebrations. But there is still more to be done to be ready for a
full calendar of regular programs and special events. Join volunteers from Single Volunteers Boston in a variety of projects, including pond clean-up, finish work on our stair repair project and some path repairs, putting some muscle into digging up two areas to reseed with grass to complete our organic lawn restoration and maybe transplanting seedlings for our greenhouse
program. Enjoy a morning in an urban oasis, where your efforts will be
very appreciated!

There is no need to register for the Volunteer Workday—just show up!
