  Volunteer Orientation
The Growing Center is run and maintained by a volunteer organization called the Friends of the Community Growing Center. We have a number of volunteer teams and committees that need leadership and members, including Archives & History, Compost Caretakers, Event Support, Farmers Market, Lawn & Labyrinth Care, Playgroup, Publicity and Outreach, Watering Angels, Work Day Leadership, Children and Nature Initiative, Board of Directors, Fundraising, Master Planning, and Program Planning Committee. The way to get started is to attend a volunteer orientation. The orientation usually lasts for an hour or so, depending on the number of questions. This may be the last orientation of the season so please contact us if you have been meaning to attend.

  Fairies in the Garden
Annual event for the young of heart. Don your fairy wings and come play, create art, sing and dance in fairy land. Build a fairy house. Please bring a teacup for fairy tea. Come dressed up as your most Magical Being; Fairies, friends of the fairies, unicorns, dragons, elves, wizards and made-up creatures are most welcome. Suggested donation $5-$10 per child to cover costs. Rain date September 26.
