There are so many ways that you can get involved; no contribution is too small- they add up to a full, fun season! Take a look and see if your skills and interests match up with any of the following, and then contact the Center at info@thegrowingcenter.org .

Yes, like all community groups, we are better able to achieve our goals with some basic level of funding. At this point, we accept cash or in-kind donations of any size. COME TO AN EVENT!
· We print up a yearly calendar of cultural and educational events each year in late April. To get on the mailing list for this, please call or email us with your information.
· To get on our email update list (approximately monthly during summer months or with last minutes updates) please send a message to info@thegrowingcenter.org with your request.
· Get in the habit of checking our calendar page and/or watch for postings in the Somerville Journal and other local media.
· If you would like to sponsor an event or host a private function, please contact us to arrange details.

EDUCATION
· Help develop and/or coordinate programs
· Assist teachers during programs
· Conduct short workshops on specialized areas of interest (such as: organic gardening, insect investigations or healthy cooking demonstrations).

ARTS, CULTURE AND CELEBRATION
· Serve as a host for cultural events or a regular series
· Organize volunteers for cultural events
· Help recruit cultural and educational programs
· Coordinate a film series, offer a class, concert or other cultural event
· Help create and update the annual calendar listing
· Help document events (photography, video, other)

SKILLS BUILDING
· Volunteer at Work Days or recommend a group to participate
· Volunteer with Walnut Street Center's Garden Maintenance Program
· Offer a workshop in garden or landscaping skills (i.e. composting, pruning, organic lawn care, etc.)

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
· Help create a 2-year and long-term financial plan
· Assist with fundraising or grant writing efforts
· Make a monetary donation

THE GARDEN
· Be a Saturday Volunteer
· Become a steward for one special part of the garden
· Help with cataloguing of plant materials
· Become the invasive plant manager
· Serve as a tour guide for informational tours
· Join the new Landscape Advisory Group to prepare a 10-year plan for the garden

OUTREACH AND PR
· Distribute flyers to public locations and help with mailings
